Chiwhatin Productions, the record company formed in August 1992 by Earl Danyluk and Jeff Merriam, has released a series of four tapes su re to bring back memories of your wedding dance, your family at church or that party of long ago.

Two fiddle tapes from Clarence Louttit and Fred Georgekish include all the old favorites— 4th of January, Chinese Breakdown, Fisher’s Hornpipe, St. Anne’s Reel, Big John McNeil and of course Boil Them Cabbage Down. Slap these tapes in and let the dancing begin.

The Anglican Cree Choir from Wemindji also sings hymns which bring you back to the time when you went to church with your family, standing there as a young child with the community and pretending to sing along with them. So put this tape on and let yourself be comforted and uplifted by the sounds of these sacred songs. Remember sitting at the kitchen table enjoying a tea or what have you with Bobby Visitor coming over the radio accompanying you in your sorrow or happiness.

Included in Bobby’s tape are songs of praise and your basic hurtin’ songs from Hank Williams sung in Cree which are old favourites for the people of James Bay. Now you can listen to these songs at your convenience courtesy of Chiwhatin Productions. To reach Chiwhatin call (819)978-3100.
