The first Prom Night ever held in Mistissini was celebrated with excitement and eagerness by all who attended on the evening of June 12.
The Secondary V students of Mistissini Voyageur Memorial High School and all their invited guests arrived handsomely and beautifully in their classy evening wear to best suit this special occasion of the year.
To top the evening, a Prom King and Queen were chosen by the Secondary V students. The Prom King was the ever-popular, handsome Leslie Mattawashish and the Prom Queen was the charming, lovely Rachel Brien MacLeod, both graduates of Secondary V of 1998-98.
I am very proud of my daughter Rachel, who began her school year with
great uncertainty but came through successfully because of her courage and determination to succeed.
I thank all who helped her through these problems: especially my daughter Barbara and Bouch (Charlie)
Petawabano.
