If you haven’t heard that one yet, let me fill you in. He is only the biggest thing to happen to golf since the Oka crisis. He is twenty two years old and just turned pro last year. As an amateur he blew everybody away. As a pro he is proceeding to blow everybody away. He has swung a golf club since he was three months old. Where am I going with this you may ask. Just hold on and I will get to it. He is of Thai, White and African descent with a touch of cherokee thrown in for good measure. The four sacred colours. He is playing what was once a so called white mans game. The only people of colour you generally saw on the golf course were the caddies or greenskeepers. There was and still is racism that has to be dealt with. Tiger Woods is dealing.

I’M TIGER WOODS

Just a couple of weeks ago he won the Masters at Augusta Georgia. The final frontier. Just looking at the numbers, twelve strokes ahead of 2nd place, setting a new record. What does one say of a tidal wave washing away the little fish leaving them to fight it out to see who’ll be in a disant second place. His effect transends the game of golf. He has shattered the colour barrier along with many others. He is an inspiration for kids wanting to break into golf or to follow ones dream. Against all odds he keeps on. He plays to win.

I’M TIGER WOODS

In the game of life, the goal is to win. You play to win or* you get left behind. Maybe you won’t get a gazillion dollar contract to wear a nike logo. But if you get your high school diploma, you’ve won. If you start your recovery from alcohol, you’ve won. If you go to university and become a doctor, you’ve won. After a win, you set your sights on the next one. If along the way you do get the contract with nike what the heck. More power to you. If you take yourself out of the game, you’ve lost.

I’M TIGER WOODS

If you dare to dream, you’re winning.
