Five Cree students are on their way to being certified in homecare after an intensive10-month course.
The students are learning how to care for patients and will have all the training required by hospitals for homecare.
As part of their training, they left the classroom and helped out at the Chibougamau Hospital. Next they are headed to the Cree communities where they will be getting more on-the-job experience.
The students are Angela Coon, Nancy Etapp and Francis Awashish of Mistissini, DinahGunner of O.J. and Elizabeth Ottereyes of Waswanipi.
The course is offered by the Chibougamau campus of CEGEP St. Félicien.
