Dad, you were very wise with your teachings.

Dad, you were always gentle to your children.

Dad, you always spoke wisely and gently.

Dad, you taught me to respect our Mother Earth,

For we are her children and she loves us.

Dad, you taught me to respect the animals,

For they are the ones that keep us from hunger.

Dad, you taught me to respect my Elders, and To other people from all walks of life.

Dad, you taught me to love and to forgive others,

No matter what they have done.

Dad, you taught me not to judge others,

No matter what they do.

Dad, you taught me to accept life as it is,

And to take care of the life the Creator gave me.

Dad, never once did I hear you complain about life.

Dad, you taught me so many life’s precious things.

Dad, you were a wise teacher, a provider and a father.

I couldn’t have asked for a better “Dad.”

Dad, the Creator called you back to go home to his kingdom,

So you can rest Because your job was done here, on Earth.

Now, it is my turn to pass these wise teachings to your grandchildren. Sometimes, they ask where you are, I tell them,

You have gone back home to our Creator to rest.

I miss you Dad, but you will live on in my heart And I know that some day, we’ll cross each other’s paths again.

But for now, I have to wait and finish what I came here for.

Your loving daughter, and grandsons,

Vera, Vuune, Jonathan and Sebastien
