Irene Pepabano, charged with seven different counts including three counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol causing death, has renounced her right to a preliminary inquiry.

She is facing charges in a drunk driving incident that took the lives of three people in Chisasibi in June 2003.

“While she is on the list (for trial) she can ask at anytime to be brought back before the court to plead guilty,” said Crown Prosecutor Christian Leblanc. “If she doesn’t, the trial could go as soon as the fall, or up to as late as the spring.”
