My dad went on a thirty day “journey of wellness” to find himself and to look at his life and to be a changed man. It was a hard, long, cold journey, but it was worth it.

They walked everyday on snowshoes about ten to twelve kilometers a day. Altogether they walked 680 kms from Nitchequeon to Mistissini.

Dad talks a lot about his walk, whenever he feels low, he remembers his walk, it lifts him up and keeps him going with life and takes it as it comes and goes. My dad is a hard-working man and never quits.

He encourages other people that they can do anything they want and not to quit, to keep trying.

I believe that my dad can help the youth or adults with their problems, he knows what they are going through, because he went through the same problems.

My dad is also a hockey coach. He loves hockey, in fact he was a good hockey player. He was invited to try-out for “Junior Major” in Quebec in the early seventies, when he was only sixteen-years-old, disappointingly, he never went.

Today, he looks back and regrets. So, now he does not want the same thing to happen to my brothers. He is always there for them and supports them.

My dad is a changed man now. He had healing from the long journey he walked in his snowshoes. I love and believe in my dad.
