The Native presence in Montreal was celebrated on St. Denis Street from the 18th to the 2st of June. A Native encampment was erected. At La Place Pasteur (Place Mashteviatsh) were Native dancers accompanied by Eagle Wing Dancers and the Keepers of the Eastern Door performed daily. Also daily were demonstrations of Native handicrafts along with an exhibition of Inuit art at the National Library.

For the evening events there were on one hand a Native film festival at the O.N.F. Centre organized by Terres En Vue, and on the other hand Inuit throat singers with the duo Tudjuat. Finally on Saturday a dancing march was organized in the streets of downtown, accompanied by the musical group Otava Leno Wnipiaipa. And in the evening a performance in front of the National Library by the groups Innu Tshemun (of Maliotenam) and Atikamekw Mos Eckaw (of Opitciwan).
